Welcome to Rausu, Shiretoko
Shiretoko Peninsula -- a World Heritage site in Hokkaido.
Its unique ecosystem can be best experienced in the town of Rausu, located along the Nemuro Strait.
Get on board the Aruran III, a nature cruise ship that lets you see orcas and sperm whales in summer, and Steller's sea eagles and white-tailed eagles playing on drift ice during winter.
Cruise Information
Summer Cruise
Cruise operation: End of April – mid October
Travel time: Approximately 2.5 hours (Reservation required)
Departure time: 8:30 a.m. (Please come to the Aruran III waiting room at Rausu Port by 8:00 a.m. We will head out once all the passengers have arrived.)
Cost: 8,800 yen/adult; 4,400 yen/child in elementary school
(There is a discount for a group with 10 or more people. Please contact us for details.)
Please note: The cruise ship may not operate during high tides and bad weather conditions such as dense fog.
(There are, however, cases where the weather is clear out on the ocean and it is possible to run the whale-watching tour. Please contact us in advance.)
Please call us at 0153-87-4477 by 7:30 a.m. on the day of the boarding date to check/confirm whether or not the ship will operate.
Winter Cruise
Cruise operation: End of January – end of March
Travel time: Approximately 2.5 hours (Reservation required)
Departure time: Early morning route departs approximately 30-60 minutes before sunrise; regular route departs at 9:00 a.m.
Cost: 9,900 yen/adult; 4,950 yen/child in elementary school
